Setting up a PMO at WML

The solution from MOJEO
MOJEO came into the picture at WML and played a crucial role in setting up the PMO. The Brownpaper session, a kick-off session organized by MOJEO, served as the starting point for the project.
Together with all stakeholders, including project managers themselves, the tasks and role of PMO are concretized. Using MOJEO building blocks, a plan of action was drawn up and we started working out PMO support project by project.
MOJEO was not only involved in the initial kick-off, but also took responsibility for outlining the PMO's strategy. This involved addressing specific building blocks. Setting up the PMO was approached on a project-by-project basis, with an internal project manager at the helm, supported by Inge as MOJEO's senior project management officer.
To bring current employees into the new way of working within the PMO, WML's internal PMOs have successfully completed the MOJEO PMO Academy.
The added MOJO
The PMO is beginning to take its place firmly within the team of project managers. The implementation of the building blocks from the first phase is in the final stages, with a focus on the effective use of specific templates provided by the PMO to project managers. This will give project managers more time for their core tasks.
